U is for Unhurried

Today I took the day as I found it. Explored a bit by Ferry and discovered my local ferry stop, Pyrmont Bay, a 12 min walk from the apartment. Google clearly doesn't like ferries, it really doesn't want to give me them as an option.

Look at the peoples!

After that I took a ferry upriver. I couldn't go all the way because of the low tide so I got off at Olympic Park and hopped on the return ferry 5 mins later.

Look more ickle people! Enjoying my camera zoom!

Lots of different styles of house on the Parramatta river

including some aparments

Also some trees

This little guy was hanging around Olympic Park

Leaving the Olympic Park area (used in the 2000 Sydney Games)

On arriving back in nearer the centre I decided I needed to see Koalas again. So I popped in Wildlife Sydney, on Darling Harbour. This is quite a small zoo but they have limited animals so they all have a bit of space.

First there was a little Ecidna doing the rounds.

A Tree Kangaroo, this one was more awake than the one in Brisbane!

Then wallabies, this one was having a snack.

Then a Wombat. Asleep but easier to see than any in Brisbane.

They had a Southern Cassowary who also came out for a look.

Again there were Kangaroos, which you could touch but only if they felt you might have food. They thought their keeper was a better bet than the rest of us!

A few birds.

Salt water croc - a bit bigger than the 15 month old ones I saw earlier.

The Platypus was a bit easier to see this time but still playing hide and seek!

This is one third speed.

There were some small nocturnal marsupials, but they were in the dark (for obvious reasons).

The Koalas were of course super cute. I saw one (a one year old), who was a bit more active, do a little jump to the next branch.

From the zoo it was a shortish walk back to my apartment to pop a few things in the tumble drier and charge my watch.

Back out again, light rail and ferry to night tour bus!

This was an hour and half tour with an actual tour guide. We had a few stops.

It included a wizz along one of the elevated motorways, slightly disconcerting on an open top double decker. Then a very breezy trip across the Sydney Harbour bridge for another photo opportunity.

Another Ferry took me back to Darling harbour for dinner.

A nice day of making it up as I went.
