Z is for Zzzz Zzzz

This post is for Monday 4th Bank Holiday. This started slightly earlier for me.

I'm very much struggling with the time-zones here.

The sun set in Melbourne before my first flight and rose at some point on the second flight, but all the windows on the plane were shut.

My first flight was a ~6:30pm (9:30 am UK Sunday) from Melbourne to Singapore. This was a nice and efficient 7:50hr flight. So somewhere 5.5 hrs in I hit midnight (3pm UK time). Then we arrived in Singapore (2hrs behind Melbourne) at 11:55pm. I'd checked my connecting flight and it was 5 mins walk from my arrival gate. So I headed there and found the toilets, experienced midnight again, only to find no-one there. Checked the screens, my flight is leaving for a gate 15-20min in the other direction. Have to do mini security check again, just time to top up water bottle, then my boarding group is called for leg two. Leaving Singapore at 1am (6pm UK time Sunday). So 6 hrs into this 14hr flight I experiences UK midnight. Arriving around 8am UK time.

I actually managed to sleep quite well from about 4am Melbourne time to 11am (or 7pm UK to 2am).

I am now home to a very annoyed little cat - I have to say this apartment isn't as tidy as the ones in Australia! ;)
